Japanese high-quality collectible statue brand Prime 1 Studio recently showcased the latest prototype of their new work from the anime KILL la KILL, the "ULTIMATE PREMIUM MASTERLINE Ryuko Matoi vs Satsuki Kiryuin 1/4 Scale Statue," at their new product announcement event, "NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XVI: REALMS BEYOND TIME." Pre-orders are expected to open soon.

The original anime KILL la KILL, produced by Japanese animation studio TRIGGER, tells the story of protagonist Ryuko Matoi, who returns home one day to find her father murdered by an unknown assailant. Determined to seek revenge, she heads to Honnouji Academy, led by student council president Satsuki Kiryuin, to find the culprit. Through numerous confrontations between Ryuko and Satsuki, Ryuko gradually uncovers the truth behind her father's murder, Satsuki's reasons for establishing the academy, and the mystery of their shared lineage, ultimately forming a united front against the mastermind behind everything, Ragyo Kiryuin.

The "ULTIMATE PREMIUM MASTERLINE Ryuko Matoi vs Satsuki Kiryuin 1/4 Scale Statue" captures the intense battle scene from the cover illustration of the game KILL la KILL -IF in a massive size. The overall design faithfully recreates the anime's art style and dynamic cinematography, sculpting the exaggerated poses of the two characters as they don their God Robes, "Senketsu" and "Junketsu," respectively, wielding their "Scissor Blade" and "Bakuzan" in confrontation. The paint application meticulously renders the exposed skin, the lustrous texture of the God Robes, and the metallic sheen of their weapons.

The base not only features the series' core concept, the "Life Fibers" pattern, and the anime's title logo, but the scene above also incorporates Honnouji Academy's main building and concrete debris scattered by the battle's airflow. Transparent parts are used to create the cross-shaped flashes that signify the immense power of the God Robes.

However, the prototype of this product exhibited a few months ago was actually a 1/6 scale statue from the "CONCEPT MASTERLINE" series, with pre-orders expected to open in Q4 2025. Now, with 2026 fast approaching and still no news, it has instead been replaced by the exhibition of an "ULTIMATE PREMIUM MASTERLINE" 1/4 scale statue. It's unclear whether this is due to an error on the display tag, a last-minute version change, or if both versions will be released.
