Japanese model company Kaiyodo (KAIYODO) is releasing a new product in its popular "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI" action figure series based on Marvel Comics – the "Symbiote Spider-Man (Purple Ver.)" action figure. It has a suggested retail price of 11,000 JPY and is expected to be released in July 2026!
The Symbiote suit first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #252. Peter accidentally released the symbiote while repairing his suit during the Secret Wars, combining it with his Spider-Man suit and enhancing his various abilities. Initially, Peter felt at ease using this symbiote suit to fight crime, until various strange occurrences led him to discover that his suit was actually alive and he tried to escape its control.
This Symbiote Spider-Man (Purple Ver.) action figure stands approximately 16 cm tall. It is a recolor based on the Symbiote Spider-Man figure scheduled for release in June. It utilizes the original sculpt personally crafted by series supervisor Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. While retaining the iconic silhouette and incorporating organic details, the overall color scheme has been changed to a comic-style purple coating. The reflection is more subdued than the original, allowing for a dazzling visual effect when illuminated by light!
The accessories also include three sets of interchangeable hands, one interchangeable head sculpt, a pair of symbiote effects that can be attached to the back, and various translucent web effects. These can be combined with the flexible articulation of the Yamaguchi-style joint system to pose in various challenging dynamic stances! The symbiote-corroded head sculpt, which is a bonus for pre-orders through designated Kaiyodo channels, has also been changed to a purple coating, offering a different visual experience from the original!
