Japanese model maker Megahouse has announced the latest product in its new "FigUnity" series, which gathers characters from the same work and presents them in a Q-version (chibi) scene. The "FigUnity Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is expected to be released in September 2026.
The story of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is set in Universal Century 0085, after the Principality of Zeon won the One Year War. Its unique parallel universe setting quickly sparked discussion after its broadcast. The protagonist, Yoha Amate, is a high school girl living a peaceful daily life in a space colony. One day, feeling a sense of unreality, she encounters Nean, a war refugee girl, and Shuji Ito, a mysterious boy piloting a red Gundam. She also accidentally becomes the pilot of the mobile suit "GQuuuuuuX" and gets caught up in the illegal MS dueling competition "Clan Battle". Since then, Yoha, under the alias "Macho," has dedicated herself to intense daily battles.
"FigUnity Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" features the three protagonists, Macho, Nean, and Shuji, along with their mechanical companions, Haro and Gonki, all rendered in low-head-to-body ratio Q-version (chibi) forms. Not only do their round heads and short bodies look incredibly cute, but the paint colors also match the anime's style, faithfully reproducing the characters' hair colors and outfits. The base features a wave-like design to represent the "sparkling" scene from the series, allowing each character to frolic within it in a cute, floating pose.
