Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya announced the release of a new complete figure product, "Kongo Swimsuit Ver.," based on their "Frame Arms Girl" model kit series, scheduled for February 2026.

The prototype for Frame Arms Girl "Kongo" originates from the eponymous Frame Arms mecha designed by mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase. Its design integrates the image of the famous Japanese cruiser "Kongo" from World War II, reconstructing it into a cool robot structure. The bishojo (beautiful girl) rendition by illustrator Fumikane Shimada features a short-haired girl body with her left eye covered and an attractive physique, capable of equipping transformable armor, shields, cannons, drones, and other armaments redesigned from the original Frame Arms prototype.

The newly released "Kongo Swimsuit Ver." is based on the illustration by Fumikane Shimada, transforming Kongo's racing swimsuit-style body into a complete figure approximately 23 cm tall. It meticulously sculpts the intricate details of each part of the body's armor and captures a charming pose, holding some armaments and sailing forward.

Thanks to the comprehensive sculpting of the PVC complete figure specifications, this product achieves seamless joints and body contours that were not possible in the model kit version. It meticulously renders the subtle wrinkles of the swimsuit, conveys the softness and elasticity of the chest armor and the body's glutes, and even uses color application on the abdomen to suggest the texture of skin showing through after being wet, allowing one to simultaneously appreciate the hardness of the armaments and the softness of the body.
