T-ARTS, a toy brand under Japan's TAKARA TOMY Company, has launched a new product based on the theme of "Shinken Seminar Elementary School Course"—the "Korasho Alarm Clock (Mezamashi Korasho) Miniature Figure Collection" gashapon. With a suggested retail price of 400 JPY per capsule, it is scheduled for release in late January 2026!
"Shinken Seminar Elementary School Course" (Shinken Zemi Shogaku Koza) is a children's learning publication issued by Benesse Corporation of Japan since 1988. It uses friendly guidance from cute original characters like Shimajiro to help children adapt and develop various life habits. It was introduced to Taiwan in 1989 to accompany Taiwanese children, until new subscriptions and renewals ceased in March 2024. It is believed to be a cherished childhood memory for many toy enthusiasts!
Korasho is the main character in "Challenging First Grade" (Challenge 1-nensei), launched by "Shinken Seminar Elementary School Course" targeting first-graders. The monthly magazine provides the "Korasho Alarm Clock" (Mezamashi Korasho) as a pre-order bonus for elementary school entrance preparation with a subscription. Almost every year, a new design is released, with over 20 versions launched in the past 20 years! This "Korasho Alarm Clock Miniature Figure Collection" transforms previously released Korasho Alarm Clocks into miniature figure charms. It includes five versions: 2000, 2004, 2009, 2020, and 2025 editions. Details such as the clock face are reproduced in a size of approximately 4.5 cm, and a ball chain is included, allowing both adults and children to hang them on their bags and relive the days of Korasho accompanying them to school!
