Max Factory, a Japanese company known for its popular "figma" action figure series, has announced its latest product, "Yahna," from VANILLAWARE's fantasy strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord, scheduled for release in September 2026.
Unicorn Overlord continues VANILLAWARE's excellent 2D art design, building a fantasy world with stunning high-resolution illustrations and giving each character lively action performances. The story is set on the "Fevrith Continent," composed of five nations. Due to General Valmore of the Cornia Kingdom initiating a rebellion, the nations were quickly invaded by the New Zenoiran Empire. The protagonist, Alain, also became a fallen prince of a ruined kingdom in his youth. He diligently studied swordsmanship and military tactics until, at the age of 17, he took hold of the legendary "Ring of the Unicorn" and led the Liberation Army to save the world dominated by the Empire.
The popular character "Yahna," now being made into a figure, is a witch living in a swamp village. When the Zenoiran army attacked the village, she transformed herself into a cat and successfully escaped, later becoming one of the Liberation Army's forces. Upon her first encounter with Alain and others, due to her youthful appearance, she was mistaken for the granddaughter of the former court sorceress "Yahna." In fact, she is "Yahna" herself, having used a secret art of rejuvenation to restore her youthful appearance, her actual age being 88.
"figma Yahna" is produced as an articulated figure with a total height of approximately 15 cm. Its overall design faithfully reproduces the in-game settings, meticulously recreating her witch hat with a pair of metal horns, her highly revealing outfit and metal accessories, and the bat-shaped staff in her hand. The various textures of metal, fabric, etc., are expressed through color painting. Three interchangeable face parts are included: "normal face," "shy face," and "shouting face," capturing her appearance as an elderly woman who is still as bashful as a young girl.
Each joint is made with figma's original joint parts, offering flexible articulation combined with intricate part separation. Movable mechanisms are also included for the hair bundles on both sides of her head and the base of her cape, allowing them to be adjusted according to the figure's movements. Additionally, interchangeable accessories include "lower body parts for a crossed-leg pose" and "skirt parts for dynamic poses." The former allows for the recreation of an elegant crossed-leg pose, while the latter expands the range of motion for the hip and thigh areas, enabling more dynamic poses.
