Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division is set to release its latest plastic model kit, the "HG 1/144 Legend Gundam," from the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY" on January 31, 2026. Ahead of its release, the official channels have unveiled new information, including the product's box art design and actual sample images.
The ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam is a mobile suit piloted by Rey Za Burrel, a clone with the same genes as Rau Le Creuset. To realize the "Destiny Plan" advocated by his adoptive father, Chairman Gilbert Durandal, it engaged in a decisive battle with Kira Yamato's Strike Freedom Gundam at the end of the series. This mobile suit evolved from the Providence Gundam piloted by Creuset in the previous war. It is equipped with a second-generation DRAGOON system on its back, significantly enhancing the pilot's spatial awareness and allowing for wireless control of the ten DRAGOON armaments, "Beam Assault Cannons," for all-range attacks.

The "HG 1/144 Legend Gundam" is a completely redesigned new kit compared to the 2005 version, featuring the same modern head-to-body proportions and sleek, cool armor design as the Gunpla from the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" movie series. The entire model is produced using the latest modern color separation and part division techniques, allowing for a richer reproduction of details through molded part colors. Furthermore, it incorporates improvements from the "SEED Action System" featured in the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" product line, making the articulation throughout the body even more flexible.
The armaments include a High-Energy Beam Rifle, a Valiant Beam Saber, and a Beam Shield. The handle of the Beam Saber can be stored in the leg armor, and the Beam Shield is rendered using clear parts with intricate patterns. The massive backpack features multiple movable axes, allowing it to rotate in various directions. All ten "Beam Assault Cannons" on the backpack can also be detached, and two sets of beam effects are included, allowing for the recreation of all-range attack scenes when combined with a separately sold universal display stand.
