Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO, following the popular success of its Batman: The Animated Series line, has unveiled a new product in its 1/6 scale articulated figure series: the "Superman Limited Edition" 1/6 scale articulated figure, based on the DC Animated Universe sequel, Superman: The Animated Series. Priced at US$250 and limited to 1,000 units, pre-orders will open for a limited time on the Mondo Shop official website starting February 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM CT!
Superman: The Animated Series, which aired on Kids' WB from September 6, 1996, to February 12, 2000, is the second installment in the DC Animated Universe, following Batman: The Animated Series. Like its predecessor, it received widespread critical acclaim for its excellent writing, voice acting, mature narrative style, and modernized interpretation of characters.
This Superman Limited Edition 1/6 scale articulated figure stands approximately 30.5 cm tall. The sculpt faithfully recreates Superman's robust physique and the animated series' iconic large-chinned facial expression. The cape is crafted from plastic, which will inevitably affect some articulation flexibility. The coloring employs the signature flat-painting style to reproduce the cel-animated flat aesthetic of the series, using large blocks of color and shadows to create striking light and shadow contrasts!
Accessories include four interchangeable head sculpts with different expressions, five pairs of interchangeable hands, a bent steel rebar, a dynamic flowing cape replacement part, a right hand replacement part holding Doctor Fate's helmet from Season 2, Episode 20, "The Hand of Fate," and a right hand replacement part holding Mister Mxyzptlk's hat from Season 3, Episode 05, "Little Big Head Man." These can be combined with the dedicated display stand to recreate iconic scenes from the animation!
Furthermore, the limited edition will also include accessory figures of Lois Lane and Mister Mxyzptlk, allowing collectors to recreate interactions such as Superman flying while holding Lois and confronting Mister Mxyzptlk!
