The 'MODEROID' series of plastic models, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product from the anime 'ALDNOAH.ZERO', the "KG-7 AREION", slated for release in August 2026.
The KG-7 AREION is an Armored Knight developed by the Earth United Forces in recent times and is currently used as a main combat unit. This model is an improved evolution of the KG-6 SLEIPNIR, sharing the same overall design structure but with reinforced armor in areas previously lacking protection, such as the chest and thighs, and miniaturized leg stabilizers. While its mobility has slightly decreased, its defensive capabilities are significantly enhanced.
The "MODEROID KG-7 AREION" has been thoroughly supervised by I-IV, who was responsible for the anime's mechanical design. It not only pursues the mobility and styling set in the series but also adds richer detail sculpting to various parts of the unit. The kit utilizes multi-color molded parts in green, white, gray, etc., along with stickers and some pre-painted parts. Once completed, it stands approximately 15 cm tall, faithfully reproducing the streamlined silhouette of its exterior armor and the intricate details on its surface.
Each joint features a flexible articulation design, allowing for standing, kneeling, and prone firing poses with various weapons. The miniaturized stabilizers on both sides of the legs can be reproduced in deployed or stored configurations by replacing certain parts. Weapon accessories include a submachine gun of the same specifications as the KG-6, a long rifle, a 203mm grenade launcher, a pistol, and a knife. The submachine gun comes with a detachable grenade launcher part and replicates the magazine removal mechanism, while the bipod on the long rifle can also be deployed.
