Japanese company X-PLUS (株式会社エクスプラス) is releasing a new product based on the classic Universal Monsters film "Frankenstein" — the "Frankenstein (1931)" 1/8 scale plastic model kit, with a suggested retail price of 8,800 JPY, scheduled for release in May 2026!

The 1931 film "Frankenstein" is adapted from Mary Shelley's novel of the same name. The story unfolds in a Bavarian Alpine village, where scientist Henry Frankenstein creates a monster using corpses and lightning. The monster's appearance is abnormal and its strength astonishing, leading to fear and misunderstanding among the people...

This 1/8 scale plastic model kit of Frankenstein's Monster (also translated as Frankenstein's creature) stands approximately 26.5 cm tall when completed, faithfully recreating its towering physique. Details such as the bolts on its neck, the stitched scars on its head and wrists, and the texture of its clothing are precisely reproduced based on its appearance in the film! The diorama base recreates the large experimental equipment used for forbidden research and the wooden floor of the laboratory. It also includes two interchangeable head sculpts: one with a neutral expression and one with a terrifying, upturned-mouth expression, offering various display options! The images released on the official website are of a painted prototype; the actual product will be an unpainted assembly model, allowing all toy enthusiasts to add their own colors to this classic scene and create their unique diorama effect!
