In addition to the "Rei Ayanami" figure, renowned Japanese toy company GOOD SMILE COMPANY has also unveiled another new product from the "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" series – the "Shikinami Asuka Langley" 1/7 scale pre-painted figure. It has a suggested retail price of 18,600 JPY and is scheduled for release in March 2027!
In the New Theatrical Edition, Asuka appears under the name "Shikinami Asuka Langley." She follows the anti-NERV organization "WILLE" led by Misato Katsuragi, continuing to pilot Evangelion Unit-02. In "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," it was revealed that she, like Rei Ayanami, is a created "Eligible One."
This Shikinami Asuka Langley 1/7 scale pre-painted figure stands approximately 23.5 cm tall. It faithfully recreates the design from the New Theatrical Edition illustration drawn by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, who is responsible for the EVA character designs. The sculpt meticulously captures her slender, elongated physique encased in the red plugsuit, utilizing a glossy paint finish to replicate the reflective, latex-like texture of the suit. Combined with her flowing hair and pensive right eye, the figure perfectly brings the illustration to life! Furthermore, the red rocky base complements the Rei Ayanami figure released concurrently, allowing collectors to display them together to recreate the scene from the illustration. We can likely anticipate Mari Illustrious Makinami, who appears on the far right of the illustration, to be released in the future!
