The TV anime "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" is celebrating its 15th anniversary, but its highly anticipated new theatrical film, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica Walpurgisnacht: Rising"—originally announced for the series' 10th anniversary—has been a long time coming. First slated for Winter 2024, it faced repeated production delays, even missing its revised February slot this year.
Today (2/27), the official team dropped the big news: the film is now officially set to premiere on August 28, 2026! They also extended their heartfelt thanks once again to all the fans who have patiently stuck with them through every twist and turn.

The official team totally gets that fans have been a little (or a lot!) frustrated with the constant delays and release date shuffles. But hey, the date's finally locked in! They're sending out another massive thank you to everyone who's waited it out. Seriously, thanks for all your support and patience. There's still a bit of a wait, but just a little longer now!
"Puella Magi Madoka Magica Walpurgisnacht: Rising" has been on quite the journey, initially pushed from Winter 2024 to Winter 2025, then to February 2026. This latest announcement, shifting it to late August, means it will be the first brand-new theatrical film in 12 years and 10 months since "Rebellion" hit screens in October 2013.

Naturally, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" fans are still buzzing with anticipation for this one. It looks like the official team is much more confident this time around, so fingers crossed there are no more delays!
