To celebrate its 30th anniversary, The Pokémon Company is dropping a brand-new collectible: the "Pokémon Game Music Collection." This mini Game Boy-shaped device lets you relive the iconic tunes from the original games, and it's available now at official Pokémon Centers! The coolest part? It plays 45 classic tracks from Pokémon Red/Green by swapping out tiny cartridges, letting players dive back into the soundscapes of their handheld childhoods.

This pint-sized music player is about one-third the size of the original Game Boy, but don't let its stature fool you—the details are meticulously recreated, right down to the button colors, casing texture, and speaker design, all aiming for that authentic retro feel. It comes in two versions, Red and Green, each packed with 45 different colored mini cartridges. Each cartridge corresponds to a specific track and a memorable scene from the game, and yes, you actually physically insert and remove them to switch songs!

Junichi Masuda, who composed the music and sound effects for the original Pokémon games, shared that the team obsessed over the sound quality, aiming to perfectly capture the Game Boy's unique audio character. "I hope everyone enjoys the fun of swapping cartridges, just like in the old handheld days," he added.
This awesome product was officially unveiled during the 30th-anniversary livestream on February 27, 2026. The same event also dropped some seriously massive news, including the reveal of the brand-new mainline titles, Pokémon Wind/Wave, set to land on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, alongside the latest info on the new battle game, Pokémon Champions.
