BANDAI TABLETOP GAMES, the board game brand from Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced the first wave of six "STARTER SET" products for the Pokémon-themed dice battle game series, 'PLAKORO,' scheduled for release in July 2026.
'PLAKORO' is a Pokémon dice battle board game originally released by Bandai Co., Ltd. in 1997. It features Pokémon characters crafted into adorable six-sided dice, which, combined with "Energy Dice" printed with various elemental symbols and move cards, allow for fast-paced battles where victory is achieved by reducing an opponent's HP to zero.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon series, the classic board game 'PLAKORO' has been revived and evolved. The original product development team has reassembled, integrating BANDAI SPIRITS' latest modern model-making technology. The first wave of six "STARTER SET" products will feature six Pokémon in dice form, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee, and Mew.
Each pack includes one Pokémon character die, three Energy Dice, 18 elemental symbol parts to attach to each face of the Energy Dice, one character card, seven move cards, an HP counter dial, and more. One set provides all the necessary items for a complete battle, allowing players to engage in combat with opponents who also own a "STARTER SET." Additionally, BANDAI TABLETOP GAMES will simultaneously release "Adventure Boxes" containing random Pokémon character dice, offering a chance to pull Pokémon like Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno!
