GOOD SMILE COMPANY, a Japanese figure manufacturer, has announced the latest product from its affordable pre-painted figure series, "POP UP PARADE," featuring "POP UP PARADE SP Chiharu & Makina" from the original anime "Milky☆Subway," scheduled for release in September 2026.
The popular work "Milky☆Subway," which aired in July 2025, is an original 3D animation personally directed, written, designed, and produced by independent animator Yohei Kameyama. Continuing the story, extraterrestrial worldview, and 80s cyberpunk style of his graduation project anime "Milky☆Highway," it depicts the superhuman Chiharu and the cyborg Makina, who, after being arrested by the police, are sent to the interstellar train "Milky☆Subway" for labor service. However, due to an accidental activation of the train, they embark on a short, perilous journey.
"POP UP PARADE SP Chiharu & Makina" brings the two "gyaru" protagonists from the series to life as figures approximately 14.5 cm tall. In addition to faithfully reproducing Chiharu's pink skin and tentacles, and Makina's high-performance body, the figures also utilize intricate sculpting and rich pattern printing to recreate their rebellious fashion styles, such as the Sukajan jacket, off-shoulder sweater, and loose socks. A special base printed with the anime title is also included as an accessory, allowing both protagonists to be displayed together.
