Ever since the LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Course, a collaboration between Danish toy company LEGO and Nintendo of Japan, was released in 2020, we believe that a vast number of LEGO enthusiasts and gaming fans have acquired various LEGO Super Mario products, big and small. But we wonder if you, like us, have always felt a persistent sense of incompleteness? In 2027, this subtle void deep within might finally be completely filled!
Last night (the 10th), which was MAR10 Day 2026, LEGO and Nintendo of America released an exciting teaser video on their official Instagram: The familiar green pipe emerged from the darkness, and then, a LEGO Mario minifigure, created with a brand-new mold and dressed in his classic red and blue attire, jumped out. The post's caption read: "New sets coming in 2027."
As early as March 1, 2024, when LEGO released the Animal Crossing: New Horizons sets, many players both domestically and internationally expressed that since Animal Crossing characters could be so wonderfully rendered as LEGO minifigures, why hadn't we seen minifigures for the Super Mario series yet? Now, the wait is finally over! We are incredibly excited for the new LEGO Super Mario releases next year~ We're really hoping to see Big-Fig Bowser and Donkey Kong!
