Produced by Japan's PLEX company, the GIGANTIC SERIES, a model line known for its high quality and massive scale, is releasing a new product to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the film "Shin Godzilla" – the "Godzilla (2016) 4th Form 10th Anniversary Ver." figure. The suggested retail price is 111,650 JPY, with an estimated shipping date of June 2026!
Directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, "Shin Godzilla" is the 31st film in the Godzilla series, featuring its own independent worldview. Its setting is similar to the original 1954 Godzilla, telling the story of the "giant unknown creature" Godzilla's first appearance and landing in Japan. It achieved a global box office success of 78 million USD, making it the highest-grossing Japanese live-action film of 2016!
This "Godzilla (2016) 4th Form 10th Anniversary Ver." reuses the mold from the 2017 version, recreating Godzilla's evolved, even larger body as it lands again in Kamakura. The intricate sculpting meticulously showcases Shin Godzilla's skin texture and astonishing muscle lines. The red skin revealed beneath the rough, dark red epidermis appears to use a more vibrant paint application than previous versions. Translucent parts are used for the dorsal fins and neck, creating a light-transmitting visual effect that conveys a sense of mutated biology. Combined with its large size, approximately 49 cm tall and 86 cm long, it perfectly captures Shin Godzilla's immensely oppressive and powerful aura!
