The latest entry in the Pokémon series, the sandbox slow-life game Pokemon Pokopia, dropped this month, offering a chill, therapeutic new experience that's got players hooked on its engaging gameplay.
And it's not just regular gamers falling for its charm! Singer and actor Gen Hoshino recently spilled the beans on his own deep dive into the game during the March 17 broadcast of his radio show, "Hoshino Gen's All Night Nippon."

"I have work to do, and I am doing it, but I accidentally started playing this game called Pokemon Pokopia... it's seriously so much fun," Hoshino Gen chuckled on air.
He mentioned hearing beforehand that the game was a "time-sink" that would make time "evaporate." He tried to avoid looking up too much info, but YouTube was already flooded with playthroughs and review videos. Even without clicking, he could tell from the thumbnails and titles that the reviews were overwhelmingly positive.

Hoshino Gen continued, "It really feels like time just gets stolen from you; there's never enough time. It's a total time thief, and I thought, 'This is a bit dangerous' (laughs). But I've been feeling a bit down lately, so I thought I'd get some healing from Ditto and the other Pokémon, and wow, it totally worked! It's amazing!"

He even admitted to constantly exclaiming, "It's too cute! So adorable!" while playing, only to then remind himself, "Oh no, I need to work!" Yet, even while working, his mind would drift to "Ditto..." He's completely absorbed by the game.
Pokemon Pokopia has garnered rave reviews since its release, even giving Nintendo's stock a boost. If even celebrities are having this much fun, it looks like this major Pokémon title for the year is certainly holding its own until the tenth generation main series game, "Pokemon Wind and Wave," drops next year.
