TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced on its official X account that "Higashijima Tansaburo," the protagonist from the popular anime "Higashijima Tansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider," will be commercialized as an S.H.Figuarts action figure!
"Higashijima Tansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" is a seinen manga series by Hiroshi Shibata, serialized in "Monthly HEROES" since 2018. Co-produced by Ishimori Productions and Toei, it was adapted into a TV anime by LIDENFILMS in 2025. The story follows the protagonist, Tansaburo Higashijima, who, upon turning 40, has dreamed of becoming a Kamen Rider since childhood and has continuously trained for it, but has never been able to find the evil organization Shocker. Just as he was about to give up, a Shocker combatant suddenly appeared!
After much anticipation from fans, just as the final episode of the anime's first season was about to air, it was finally announced that Higashijima Tansaburo would be commercialized under the highly popular S.H.Figuarts action figure brand! Furthermore, the official "Higashijima Tansaburo Wants to Be a Kamen Rider" X account also simultaneously revealed that another popular character, Yuriko Okada, will be commercialized under Max Factory's figma action figure brand. With two major popular brands releasing figures, the excitement is simply overwhelming!
