BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its beginner-friendly plastic model series 'ENTRY GRADE'. This new item, "1/144 ν Gundam & Fin Funnel [Recirculation Color/Neon Green] Paperless Ver.", based on the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, is scheduled for release in June 2026.
The RX-93 ν Gundam is a mobile suit designed with the participation of Earth Federation Forces' Newtype ace pilot Amuro Ray. It confronted Char's Neo Zeon in the Second Neo Zeon War of UC 0093. This machine returned to an initial design philosophy of simplicity, versatility, and durability, featuring micro-thrusters throughout its body. It also incorporated "Psycho-Frame" technology and was equipped with "Fin Funnels" capable of all-range attacks, significantly enhancing the machine's structural strength, mobility, and Amuro's Newtype abilities.
This product simultaneously includes two kits: "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 ν Gundam" and "Accessory Set Gunpla 19 Fin Funnel". Based on previously released standard versions, the part molding colors have been modified. Black parts are molded from recycled runner material, complemented by striking neon green parts for accentuation, symbolizing the concept of sustainability with a futuristic color scheme. Accessories include specially designed stickers with the "RE (RECIRCULATION)" emblem, representing recycling, which can be applied to various parts of the mobile suit.
Aside from the colors, the specifications are identical to the standard version without the Fin Funnels. The overall design continues the refined style of the HGUC version, with the exterior armor featuring no excessive panel lines, simply presenting the ν Gundam's sharp and powerful form. However, the articulation technology has evolved beyond the HGUC kits of many years ago. In addition to impressive combat poses from the series, it can be posed with armaments such as the Beam Rifle, Shield, ν Hyper Bazooka, two types of Beam Sabers, and six Fin Funnels.
The product also adopts a paperless specification, meaning no physical instruction manual is included. Users must scan the QR code on the packaging or directly visit the BANDAI HOBBY SITE to view the electronic instruction manual.
