BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its original plastic model series '30 MINUTES FANTASY', which features a fantasy world theme. This new collaboration with the anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" brings forth the "Sokyu no Kaito", scheduled for release in July 2026.
The anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers", airing in 2026, is the legitimate sequel to the 1988 anime "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers". The story takes place 35 years after the previous work. Due to the success of five warriors known as "SAMURAI TROOPERS" in repelling the invasion of the Yasha Realm into Japan, the Japanese government at the time learned its lesson and established the anti-Yasha organization DST, responsible for strengthening defenses and nurturing the next generation of "SAMURAI TROOPERS". In the present day, the Yasha Realm once again attacks the human world. The new generation of "SAMURAI TROOPERS", including Musashi Hojo, are steadily losing ground due to their lack of combat experience. Suddenly, the protagonist "Kaito" appears to assist in repelling the Yasha soldiers, but he hails from the Yasha Realm and has a close relationship with the Yasha Emperor, Rajura.
"30MF Sokyu no Kaito" leverages the articulated body design cultivated by the 30MF series, bringing to life the transformed appearance of Kaito Uesugi, one of the protagonists of the new generation "SAMURAI TROOPERS", as a plastic model. Its entire body features flexible articulated joints, allowing for highly dynamic battle poses. Furthermore, by swapping parts, it can transform from the "Under Gear" (wearing functional undergarments) to the armored "Yoroi Gear", and includes hands and effect parts to recreate the Yoroi Gear summoning scene.
Accessories include interchangeable face parts made with tampo printing, allowing for two expressions: "expressionless face" and "smiling face". Blank face parts and water-slide decals are also included for custom expressions. Additionally, Sokyu no Kaito's signature weapon, the "Sokyu Bow", can be combined with arrow parts to recreate cool bow-drawing and shooting poses.
