Following Ultraman Zearth, the popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has once again announced the commercialization of the formidable foe "Ultraman Shadow" from the movie "Ultraman Zearth 2: Superman Battle - Light and Shadow". The release date is yet to be determined.
After the previous antagonist, "Alien Benzen," was repelled by Ultraman Zearth, his wife, the "Enchanting Cosmic Queen, Lady Benzen," sought revenge. Utilizing a supercomputer for analysis, she ultimately created the battle robot "Ultraman Shadow," possessing even greater abilities. Shadow's appearance and physique closely resemble Zearth's. In addition to powerful beam and martial arts techniques, he can also emit brainwashing beams from his eyes. Furthermore, unlike Zearth, he has no transformation time limit, making him Zearth's most formidable enemy in the film. However, being a machine, Shadow has a weakness: severe damage can temporarily halt his functions, requiring a separate restart beam to resume operation.
Currently, prototype images for "S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Shadow" have been pre-released. It can be seen that most of the body parts reuse the design of Ultraman Zearth, with some new sculpted parts and colors used to faithfully recreate the sinister head sculpt and the yellow, black, and gold colored body.
