Japanese toy company Kotobukiya (コトブキヤ) has announced its latest product based on the popular video game "Mega Man" for its new "OSHI WORKS" series, which focuses on affordable and collectible items! This article introduces the "OSHI WORKS Mega Man," priced at 8,800 JPY (tax included), with an estimated release in September 2026. Additionally, "Roll" and "Dr. Wily & Dr. Light" are also available for pre-order simultaneously!
The highly popular "Mega Man" series from Japanese video game developer CAPCOM was originally created by Akira Kitamura (A.K.), with Keiji Inafune, Tokuro Fujiwara, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, and others taking over after "Mega Man 2." The most classic original Mega Man debuted in 1987. The story depicts a near future filled with artificial intelligence and robot technology, where Dr. Light and Dr. Wily, authorities in highly intelligent humanoid robots, clash due to their vastly different ideals and ambitions; the justice-driven Mega Man repeatedly steps forward to thwart Dr. Wily's evil schemes.
The "OSHI WORKS Mega Man" non-scale model is based on Mega Man from "Mega Man 11." Standing at 18 cm tall, it recreates Mega Man's iconic blue armor with a pearlescent metallic sheen, giving it a substantial feel. Transparent parts are used to reproduce the armor's intricate details. The battle-ready pose, with his energy cannon arm raised and ready to fire, combined with his facial expression, perfectly captures Mega Man's charm! Magnets are built into the soles of his feet, allowing him to be securely attached to the display base, enhancing the enjoyment of displaying him alongside other characters from the same series.
