Ado Drops "Kira" as Theme Song for adidas Japan National Football Team Kit, Backing Blue Samurai for FIFA World Cup 2026

In just six years since her debut, 23-year-old Japanese pop sensation Ado has become an absolute phenomenon. Despite never revealing her face, she's racked up countless performances, even gracing the prestigious Kohaku Uta Gassen stage – her popularity is truly mind-blowing.

Previously, Ado was announced as a creative partner for adidas Japan National Football Team's 2026 kit, with a promise to create a new song for the national squad. Today (April 9), the brand-new commercial, "Go Further. Be Freer." (「もっと、先へ。もっと、自由に。」), officially launched nationwide in Japan, featuring Ado's latest track, "Kira" (〈綺羅〉).

"Kira" is the dedicated theme song for the new kit, with songwriting and composition handled by Tatsuya Kitani. This marks the first time Kitani has penned a track for Ado.

The goal? To spread the kit's core message far and wide, rallying nationwide support as Japan aims for the FIFA World Cup 2026 championship. Ado was chosen for her explosive vocal power, which perfectly embodies the national team's spirit of "constant challenge and global ambition." The song title "Kira" (綺羅) itself means "gorgeous attire," a fitting nod to the new football kit.
