The annual cinematic event, the "Detective Conan" movie series, is back! The 29th installment, "Detective Conan: The Fallen Angel of the Highway," hit Japanese theaters on April 10th, with its Taiwan premiere slated for June 24th.
And what an opening it was! The film raked in a whopping ¥1.1 billion on its first day, marking the highest opening-day gross in the franchise's history. Minami Takayama, the voice of Conan himself, attended a special screening event in Tokyo on April 11th, where her hilarious self-deprecating humor had fans roaring with laughter.

When you think "Detective Conan" movies, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Explosions, right? (Laughs) And this one definitely doesn't skimp! While she couldn't drop any spoilers, Takayama kicked things off by playfully quipping, "First off, I need to apologize to everyone in Kanagawa Prefecture and Yokohama. Seriously, I have to apologize! Because once again, these places bore the brunt of the action in the movie. There was just no way around it!" The audience absolutely erupted.
She then added, "But hey, the scenery was meticulously recreated to look just like the real locations! As for how things end up... I'll just leave that to your imagination (laughs)." Her teasing tone only fueled fan curiosity about the scale of destruction in this latest cinematic adventure.

"Detective Conan: The Fallen Angel of the Highway" officially premiered on April 10th, drawing an impressive 739,000 moviegoers on its first day and smashing through ¥1.13 billion at the box office. This marks the second consecutive film in the series to hit the ¥1 billion opening-day milestone, setting it up for a potentially record-breaking run.
Fans are undoubtedly hyped for this release, and with the Taiwan premiere coming in late June, everyone's eager to see what new surprises Conan has in store for us this time!
