It was my privilege to undertake the painting of this incredibly massive kit from Ootaka Kobo, featuring a head height of 50 cm and a tail height of 80 cm. The packaging inside the box was impeccable, with no damaged parts upon unboxing. The painting commission requirements were generally divided into several key points: the overall scheme follows the common red and black coloration of Shin Godzilla, with the red skin tone adjusted to a fleshy, blood-like texture. The base of the dorsal fins features a dark purple gradient extending to the tail, and the bone-plate structures on the back are colored to resemble bone. The goal was to achieve a visual effect where, from a distance, it appears as the familiar black and red scheme, but up close, the variations in the fleshy skin tone become apparent. Priority was given to airbrushing to create layers for the large-area skin base, followed by extensive brush painting to bring out the overall texture. To convey a sense of flesh and blood, fragmented and reassembled small, regular patterns were used between the dark and blood-red tones, achieving the initial painting objectives. This kit is both extremely large and very heavy, so the painting process constantly prioritized avoiding any damage as the highest principle. I hope everyone enjoys this commissioned piece~
