Japanese toy manufacturer BRIGHT LINK (Bright Link Co., Ltd.) is scheduled to release a new gashapon collaboration with Japanese artist Akira Kanda, titled "Mysterious Fruit Flocked Figure Collection" (tentative translation, ふしぎな果実 フロッキーフィギュアコレクション), in mid-May 2026! The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with a total of five designs to collect.
Akira Kanda, known for creating surreal and captivating works using felt as a medium, with a style that is both peculiar and irresistibly charming, transforms everything from fruits to cats, caudex plants, and even lightning into magically intriguing creations through his reinterpretations. This gashapon release, the "Mysterious Fruit Flocked Figure Collection," recreates Akira Kanda's surreal and psychedelic fruits in a 4-6 cm scale! The felt texture is faithfully reproduced using flocking technology. It includes "White-Eyed Fruit," "Half-Asleep Drifting Peach," "Dreaming Pear," "Little Orange," and "Slippery Banana." Each design is highly distinctive, and the expressions faithfully convey the essence of Akira Kanda's work. We're really looking forward to it!
