Get ready, SAO fans! Reki Kawahara's beloved light novel series, Sword Art Online, just dropped a bombshell: a brand-new, original theatrical film is officially in the works! This isn't entirely new news, as the project was first teased four years ago as a special 10th-anniversary original movie. But now, we've got a solid date for more details: July!
Die-hard fans might recall this new movie was actually first hinted at during the "Sword Art Online -FULL DIVE Continue-" 10th-anniversary event back in 2022. The latest tease came hot off the heels of today's "Yuna First Live" event, featuring the virtual idol Yuna from "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale." The concert's finale included a fresh reminder that more info is indeed coming in July!
So, while this fourth film in the series was initially announced four years ago, the official word is that July will be the month for a major info dump. What kind of surprises will the world of Sword Art Online unleash this time? We're on the edge of our seats!
