BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division is shaking things up! Their official Gunpla fan community app, "BUILDERS NOTE" (ビルダーズノート), just announced a brand-new initiative kicking off May 12: the "Gunpla Rerun Meeting."
This fresh system aims to directly integrate Gunpla enthusiasts' voices into rerun evaluations, hoping to pinpoint exactly "which kits people *actually* want to build right now" and get those coveted Gunpla into the hands of real builders.
The biggest draw of this "Gunpla Rerun Meeting" is its laser focus on feedback from active builders. The official team will host a monthly "Selection General Election" to pick rerun candidates based on different themes. Players can cast votes for the kits they "really want to build." These voting tickets are earned through regular in-app activities like uploading daily build logs, completing specific missions, or engaging with the community.
Basically, the more you share your builds and dive into community interactions, the more your voice will count in the official rerun evaluations. The "Gunpla Rerun Meeting" is slated to happen four times a year – spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Once a kit is voted in for a rerun, it won't just hit general retail channels; it'll also be available via a lottery sale within the BUILDERS NOTE app.
And here's a cool twist: the more tickets you dump into a specific kit, the higher your chances of snagging it in the lottery sale! It's Bandai's direct way of prioritizing those who *really* want a kit, hoping to curb scalpers from scooping everything up. The entire process, from voting to lottery application, can be done right in the app.

However, since the announcement, many netizens are still arguing that the real problem isn't the reruns themselves, but the fact that kits are often impossible to buy in the first place. They doubt this new plan will guarantee anyone a chance to actually get their hands on them.

Other users are worried that if voting is concentrated among "app members," it might heavily favor mobile suits from certain popular series, potentially narrowing the scope of what gets rerun.

Some even slammed Bandai, saying the core issue is their inability to ramp up rerun production capacity, making availability the real bottleneck. They even suggested this "Gunpla Rerun Meeting" would only benefit those with voting access, ultimately fizzling out without long-term impact.

On the flip side, some positive voices believe it's a good thing that the opinions of actual builders will finally be heard and considered.

Clearly, this initiative has sparked a lively debate! So, what's your take? Is this just Bandai's wishful thinking to solve the problem, or could it genuinely improve the rerun system?
