MECHA SMILE, Good Smile Company's dedicated mecha brand, has teased initial details for their latest entry in the "THE GATTAI" finished product combining toy series: the iconic Ideon from "Space Runaway Ideon." A release date has yet to be announced.
The Ideon stands as the ultimate weapon, a formidable machine restored and modified by Earthlings from the ruins of the Sixth Civilization. Composed of three distinct units—the A, B, and C Mechas—its combined robot form towers at an imposing 105 meters and weighs 5,650 tons. Driven by the mysterious Infinite Power "IDE," the Ideon unleashes overwhelming combat capabilities. Even in close-quarters combat, it can deliver devastating mass attacks, while its body houses 16,000 missiles capable of simultaneous, multi-directional barrages. In the later stages of its saga, the Ideon gains even more destructive power with weapons fueled by Mini Black Holes (MBH): the "Wave Leader Gun," which fires a wave-destroying ray that obliterates vast amounts of surrounding matter, and the "Ideon Sword," a colossal blade formed by converging long-range beams from its arms—a weapon so powerful it can cleave a planet in two.
The upcoming "THE GATTAI Ideon" is a monumental collaboration between two leading mecha-focused toy brands: Japan's MECHA SMILE and Hong Kong's POSE+. This partnership will harness POSE+'s acclaimed ingenuity in unique concepts and design to deliver a "complete transformation" mechanism for all A, B, and C units and their various forms, ensuring no leftover parts. As a sneak peek, official channels have already revealed a development prototype of the "A Mecha." This impressive unit can transform to accurately represent both the "Sol Amber" armored vehicle and the "Ideo Delta" fighter jet, in addition to forming Ideon's head and arms during combination.
