In 2006, the acclaimed studio BONES adapted the manga into a television anime. The story follows commoner Haruhi Fujioka, who accidentally stumbles into the aristocratic Ouran Academy's Host Club and breaks an exorbitantly expensive vase. To repay her debt, she's forced to cross-dress and become a host, embarking on a romantic school comedy alongside the club's president, Tamaki Suoh, and its other dashing members.
