BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has officially announced the latest product from the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" anime, the "Freedom Gundam," for its "GUNDAM UNIVERSE" series. This 6-inch action figure line is designed for "Mobile Suit Gundam" fans worldwide and is scheduled for release in October 2026.
The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is a new generation Mobile Suit developed by the Z.A.F.T. military. It was created using technologies like beam weaponry and Phase Shift Armor, which were derived from the Earth Alliance's GAT-X series G-Weapons that Z.A.F.T. had acquired. Equipped with a "Neutron Jammer Canceller," the Freedom Gundam's nuclear engine can operate normally, providing abundant energy. This not only extends its operating time but also enables the simultaneous firing of high-energy, high-firepower armaments such as the "Xiphias" Railguns and "Balaena" Plasma Beam Cannons. The unit boasts superior performance, capable of atmospheric re-entry and high-mobility aerial combat on its own.
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Freedom Gundam" is produced using the "UNIVERSAL REACTION FRAME," a new articulation frame that has been completely revamped since 2025. This significantly enhances the range of motion compared to previous figures in the series, allowing collectors to achieve more dynamic and powerful combat poses. Both the exterior armor design and the articulation splits have been almost entirely redesigned compared to the 2021 release, resulting in a refined and slender mobile suit silhouette. This also allows for a more natural leg position during aerial maneuvers. Armaments included are a beam rifle, a shield, and beam sabers that can replicate the iconic double-bladed mode. Furthermore, the wings, waist-mounted railguns, and plasma beam cannons can be deployed to recreate the impressive "Full Burst Mode."
