"Sgt. Frog" (Keroro Gunso) is celebrating its 20th anime anniversary by dropping a brand-new movie after a 16-year hiatus! Get ready for "Sgt. Frog the Movie: Revive! The Earth-Destroying Crisis!" (Shin Gekijōban☆Keroro Gunso Fukkatsu shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu!), hitting theaters on June 26.
And the hype just got real! On June 9, the official announcement dropped: "Sgt. Frog" is teaming up with "Mobile Suit Gundam" for a special crossover! Not only did they release a clip from the movie showing a Gundam appearing before the Keroro Platoon, but they also unveiled some seriously epic commemorative artwork drawn by none other than "Sgt. Frog" creator Mine Yoshizaki and "Mobile Suit Gundam" character designer Yoshikazu Yasuhiko!

"Sgt. Frog" has always been famous for its hilarious parodies and homages to various anime and manga, and without a doubt, "Mobile Suit Gundam" is one of its deepest and most frequently referenced inspirations. Not only is the protagonist, Keroro, a hardcore Gunpla enthusiast, but the series has also featured countless Gundam-related gags and tributes over the years.
But here's the shocker: even though the anime first aired 22 years ago, this marks the very first official collaboration between "Sgt. Frog" and "Mobile Suit Gundam"! (Yeah, we're surprised too, but that's what the official word is!)
The newly revealed collaboration artwork is packed with pure fan love! Mine Yoshizaki Sensei specifically drew a Keroro-fied poster composition that pays homage to the "Mobile Suit Gundam Theatrical Trilogy."

Meanwhile, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko Sensei delivered a dream come true: Amuro, Char, and Keroro all shoulder-to-shoulder, looking like the best of pals! For fans of both franchises, these are absolutely priceless illustrations worth adding to any collection.

The released video clip shows the Keroro Platoon locked in an intense battle against mysterious invaders. Just as Keroro and his crew are getting hammered, the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam suddenly makes a dramatic appearance! But the crisis isn't over yet; a new enemy, Char's Custom Zaku (Shā Zaku), quickly shows up, escalating the situation even further.
This collaboration isn't just "Sgt. Frog"'s first official team-up with "Mobile Suit Gundam" in 22 years; it also brings together two legendary creators, Mine Yoshizaki and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, for a hands-on experience. Many long-time fans are practically screaming, "It's finally happening!"
It's also worth noting that this new movie features the original voice cast reprising their roles. However, the official word is that a completely new "Sgt. Frog" TV anime is set to premiere in Fall 2026, and the voice cast will be entirely re-auditioned. So, if you want to hear those classic voices one last time, this new movie is your final chance!
