"Whalefall" is based on Daniel Kraus's 2023 novel of the same name. The story follows Jay Gardiner, who, after the death of his father, goes scuba diving off the Central California coast to search for his father's remains. However, his quest takes a terrifying turn when he is swallowed by a massive sperm whale. Trapped inside the whale's belly with only an hour of oxygen left, Jay soon realizes that the life lessons his father once taught him might be his only hope for escape. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on October 16, 2026.
