CCP Co., Ltd., renowned for its high-quality statues and three-dimensional works, is set to release the latest addition to its Artistic Monsters Collection (AMC) series: "Gamera (2023)," based on the popular Netflix anime "GAMERA -Rebirth-." This impressive figure will have a suggested retail price of 29,700 JPY and is slated for an estimated January 2027 release.
The Netflix anime "GAMERA -Rebirth-" presents an entirely new story, separate from previous films, directed by Hiroyuki Seshita, known for his work on the "Godzilla" anime film trilogy. Set in Japan in 1989, the narrative follows four elementary school students who witness the kaiju Gyaos attack their hometown of Tokyo. In this crisis, Gamera suddenly appears to battle a swarm of Gyaos, only for other iconic monsters like Jiger, Zigra, Guilon, and Viras to emerge in succession.
This "AMC Gamera (2023)" pre-painted PVC figure is sculpted by Susukigarage (Susuki Togeno), a highly respected artist in kaiju and creature design. The figure masterfully captures the guardian god's majestic and powerful form with stunning proportions and intricate details. Standing approximately 22 cm tall, it features meticulously sculpted, layered rock-like shell textures, powerful limbs, and sharp claws, conveying a formidable presence ready for battle. The paint application utilizes careful weathering washes, while luminous parts subtly incorporate metallic finishes, perfectly recreating the impactful textures from the show and showcasing an overwhelming sense of sculptural beauty and three-dimensionality!
