Following the highly acclaimed release of "DEHARA's Mazinger Z," Hong Kong-based toy brand Kaiju One has once again teamed up with renowned Japanese toy artist DEHARA (Yukinoori Dehara)! This latest collaboration reinterprets another immortal classic from Go Nagai, "Devilman," through DEHARA's signature rough, hand-sculpted lines and unique sense of humor. This new release is slated for a limited lottery sale at the Kaiju One booth (Booth Number: E24 - E25) during the Hong Kong Animation-Comic-Game Expo 2026 (ACGHK 2026), running from July 24 to 28, 2026.
About Devilman
Created by Go Nagai in 1972, the "Devilman" manga stands as one of the most influential dark fantasy epics in Japanese anime and manga history. The story follows Akira Fudo, a kind and timid young man who, to combat the demon race bent on humanity's destruction, merges with the powerful demon Amon, transforming into a dark hero possessing "the power of a demon and the heart of a human." The series shattered the traditional good-versus-evil boundaries of mainstream manga at the time, renowned for its intense visual impact and heavy narrative. In its latter half, the plot evolves beyond simple demon slaying, delving into a profound and brutal examination of humanity's ugliness and collective madness under fear. Its profoundly shocking, tragic apocalyptic ending not only elevated the work's philosophical depth but also left an irreplaceable and lasting inspiration on countless later masterpieces, including "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and "Berserk."
The "DEHARA DEVILMAN" released by Kaiju One not only boasts official authorization from Go Nagai's Dynamic Planning but also delivers a striking visual contrast! DEHARA-sensei's signature rough, clay-sculpted style reimagines the unassuming, washed-up "Satoshi" as he unexpectedly awakens dark powers. When this "powerless" middle-aged man is forced to become a tragic dark hero, gone are the explosive muscles, replaced instead by a full-blown midlife crisis?! This unprecedented, unique masterpiece will have its first lottery sale at ACGHK 2026. Die-hard fans of DEHARA-sensei and toy collectors alike should definitely seize this opportunity!
