Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero, under its "ROBO-DOU" (ロボ道) line—known for its highly detailed and complex designs of Japanese anime mecha—is set to release a new product themed after "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition": the "EVA Test Type-01 Pseudo DMS Phase (Special Edition)" action figure! Pricing and release date are to be announced.
In "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance," Shinji pushed past human limits to save Rei, who had been consumed by an Angel. He awakened into the "Pseudo DMS Phase," shedding his restraints, manifesting a halo above his head, and forming a severed left arm from concentrated light energy, transcending the boundaries between man and god. After rescuing Rei, he further transformed into a "Giant of Light" (Pseudo DMS Phase 2), triggering the Third Impact.
This ROBO-DOU EVA Test Type-01 Pseudo DMS Phase figure stands approximately 25 cm (9.8 inches) tall. Its internal structure features a die-cast zinc alloy frame, boasting 48 points of articulation throughout the body, allowing for stable and flexible posing in various dynamic stances! The sculpt intricately replicates the awakened form of Unit-01. The red sections of its armor feature a special UV-reactive paint application, glowing brilliantly under ultraviolet light. The detachable left arm is crafted from translucent material, recreating its appearance as concentrated light energy. Furthermore, the eyes are equipped with LED light-up functions, allowing fans to recreate its dramatic in-show visual effects!
Accessories include two pairs of interchangeable hands, a berserk roaring head sculpt (without light-up function), a halo effect part for the head, a damaged chest armor piece that exposes the core, an A.T. Field effect part, and an A.T. Field attack effect part. These can be combined with the dedicated display stand to recreate powerful awakening scenes! As a special edition, it also includes three exclusive accessories: a "10th Angel-themed core display base," an "Angel core part," and a "translucent left hand for gripping the core," allowing for an even more vivid recreation of its in-series appearance!
