Japanese model brand AOSHIMA (Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd.) has announced the latest addition to its "KemoPla (けもプラ)" series: the "No.SP-10R Omaneko Official Website Limited Edition" articulated figure. Pre-orders are now open on the KemoPla official website from July 21 to September 10, 2026. The figure is slated for release in December 2026, priced at 9,460 JPY (tax included).
"Omaneko" is the official mascot of the Omaezaki Sub-Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) in Omaezaki, Shizuoka Prefecture. This military-themed kemono character has garnered significant attention for his distinctive design, featuring straight bangs, heterochromatic eyes, a fluffy chest ruff, and a unique split tail. Notably, official sources confirm Omaneko is "male," making him one of the most talked-about JASDF mascots in recent years.
Compared to the standard release, the "No.SP-10R Omaneko Official Website Limited Edition" stands out with its more comprehensive array of military equipment and apparel. While the standard version came with a fabric digital camouflage apron, this limited edition upgrades it to a full digital camouflage uniform. It also includes military boots, a training dummy rifle, and a single-eye closed shooting expression part, allowing for a more accurate portrayal of Omaneko's military persona as a JASDF base mascot. The new closed-eye shooting expression, combined with the rifle-holding hand parts and weapon accessories, enables dynamic poses for aiming, shooting, and training scenarios, significantly enhancing photographic and display versatility.
Overall, the standard version emphasizes Omaneko's original cute and relaxed character image, appealing to collectors who prefer basic styling and everyday scenarios. In contrast, the official website limited edition enhances the character's military theme and dynamic display potential through accessories like the digital camouflage uniform, military boots, and dummy rifle. For collectors seeking a complete set of accessories or those who favor JASDF and military-style designs, the limited edition offers a much richer and more comprehensive package.
The "No.KP-04R Omaneko Standard Version" (6,160 JPY) from the same series is also available for pre-order simultaneously.
