Danish toy brand LEGO has officially unveiled the latest addition to its Ideas series: "21369 The X-Files." LEGO Insiders members will have early access to purchase the set on August 1, 2026, with general availability starting August 4, 2026. The set retails for $199.99 USD and includes 1,478 pieces.
"The X-Files" was an American science fiction mystery drama series that aired on Fox from 1993 to 2018. It starred David Duchovny as FBI Agent Fox Mulder, who believes in extraterrestrial life, and Gillian Anderson as his partner, Dana Scully, who approaches cases from a scientific perspective. Together, they investigated various "X-Files" cases that defied conventional explanation, becoming a global phenomenon in the 1990s and one of the most iconic sci-fi series in pop culture history. To commemorate the set's official reveal, Gillian Anderson herself starred in a special short film, paying homage to her role as FBI Agent Scully and gradually revealing the brick-built set to viewers.
This set originated from LEGO Ideas fan designer "WetWired" (Brent Waller), whose submission won the "90s Nostalgia Challenge" before being greenlit for production. The set centers around Mulder's office as its core scene, topped with a forest clearing where a hovering UFO model is displayed on clear supports. The office interior is richly detailed, with removable desktop elements allowing for deeper exploration of the inside.
