Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer threezero is celebrating the 40th anniversary of "The Transformers: The Movie" with a new release in its small-scale mecha action figure line, MDLX. Fans can look forward to the "Bumblebee (1986 Movie Edition)" action figure, priced at an estimated $69.90 USD!

Bumblebee was one of the very first two Transformers characters to appear in the original 1984 "Transformers" animated series. Disguised as a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, this agile Autobot scout's compact size allowed him to execute various reconnaissance missions with ease.

The new MDLX Bumblebee (1986 Movie Edition) stands approximately 12 cm (4.7 inches) tall. It appears to partially utilize the reinterpreted sculpt from a previous version by threezero Art Director Kelvin Sau. The figure features an internal frame constructed from die-cast zinc alloy and engineering-grade plastic, while the exterior design blends the clean lines of the classic animation style with newly added intricate mechanical details. The paint application meticulously reproduces the saturated colors seen in the film, with the rear wheels specifically re-colored to an all-yellow appearance, accurately reflecting his character design from the movie.

Accessories include three pairs of interchangeable hands, a standard head sculpt, a battle mask head sculpt, and a laser gun. With 36 points of articulation across its body, Bumblebee can be dynamically posed alongside the Optimus Prime and Megatron figures, which were revealed concurrently, allowing collectors to recreate various iconic scenes from the film. As an added bonus, this series will also include an exclusive character card illustrated by renowned anime artist Nobuyoshi Habara, making it a truly valuable collectible!
