Japanese capsule toy maker Kitan Club has announced the third installment of its popular series, "Cat in a Paper Bag Flocky," slated to hit gashapon machines in August 2026. Each capsule will retail for 300 JPY (tax included), with a total of six types available.
The "Cat in a Paper Bag Flocky" series is a beloved capsule toy line from Kitan Club. The "Flocky" (フロッキー) process involves implanting fine fibers onto the model's surface, giving the finished product a delicate, fur-like texture that's irresistible to touch. Each cat in the series sports a distinctly grumpy expression—reluctant, even slightly annoyed—yet they dutifully curl up inside their paper bags. This amusing contrast of "unhappy but still went in" has made the series a huge hit among cat lovers since its first release.
This third volume features six distinct coat patterns: Gray, Black, Spotted, Mackerel Tabby, Brown Tabby, and Calico, covering a range of common feline appearances. Each cat boasts its own unique personality reflected in its expression. Another major highlight is the included DIY paper bag material, which collectors can cut and assemble themselves. This allows fans to create a custom paper bag for their feline friend to "tuck into," adding an interactive and personalized touch to the display.
