Japanese star Riho Yoshioka has been absolutely crushing it lately, not just with her hit TV dramas but also making waves internationally with film appearances like a cameo in "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" and the Taiwanese movie "Double Happiness." Talk about a successful career!
But when it comes to commercials, everyone knows Yoshioka Riho as the iconic "Don Kitsune" for Nissin Ramen's "Nissin Donbei" brand. She made her grand return to the role this March after a four-year hiatus, and now, a brand new ad has just dropped! This time, she's channeling major Parisian chic, cradling what looks exactly like a French baguette – but it's actually a "Honkarebushi" – all part of her fresh, new image for the campaign.

The latest spot, titled "Broth Flavor Changed" (O-dashi ga Kawatta Hen), plays on the familiar catchphrase "Kawatta!" (It's changed!). Set to a rearranged version of Akira Fuse's classic hit "Kimi wa Bara Yori Utsukushii" (You Are More Beautiful Than a Rose), the commercial sees Don Kitsune rocking a series of stylish outfits. It's a full sensory experience, hitting you with both visual flair and auditory delight to drive home the message: Nissin Donbei has revamped its broth with a brand new flavor!
That "baguette" in the paper bag? It's actually "Honkarebushi," the crème de la crème of traditional Japanese katsuobushi (bonito flakes). This premium ingredient undergoes a seriously intricate process of "mold cultivation → sun-drying" at least four times, taking over half a year to mature, and is the key to this new, richer broth.

What's more, Nissin Donbei introduces a new character, "Kitsune Aniki" (Fox Big Brother), making his debut and sharing the screen with Don Kitsune for the very first time! The ad kicks off on a charming, cobblestone street, oozing Parisian vibes. Don Kitsune, looking effortlessly chic in a classic black dress, strolls along happily, paper bag in hand.

Finally, Don Kitsune settles into an outdoor cafe, savoring a bowl of the new "Nissin Donbei Kitsune Udon," now featuring that amazing "Honkarebushi" broth. Her expression? Pure bliss and satisfaction.
