Prime 1 Studio, a leading Japanese collectibles company, is set to release a dynamic new entry in its popular "Premium Masterline" statue series: the "Kaiman & Nikaido 1/4 Scale Statue DX Version" based on the hit TV anime "Dorohedoro"! This impressive piece is priced at ¥229,790 and is expected to ship between March and May 2023.
Authored by Japanese manga artist Q Hayashida, "Dorohedoro" (ドロヘドロ) is set in two coexisting worlds: "The Hole," where ordinary humans reside, and the world of sorcerers, beings created by the devil En. Sorcerers, aspiring to become devils themselves, frequently use humans for practicing their magic. The protagonist, Kaiman (カイマン), is one such victim of magic, his head transformed into that of a lizard, and his memories lost. To regain his human face and forgotten past, he embarks on a sorcerer hunt with his companion, Nikaido (ニカイドウ).
The "Premium Masterline Dorohedoro Kaiman & Nikaido" 1/4 scale statue stands approximately 66 cm tall and masterfully captures a scene from the iconic Hungry Bug diner. Nikaido is depicted serving freshly cooked shiso gyoza, while Kaiman, a gyoza enthusiast, grins with closed eyes, ready to devour the delicious meal – a perfect snapshot of their relaxed daily life. Prime 1 Studio's top-tier sculpting techniques bring every detail to life with incredible realism, from Kaiman's distinctive lizard head to the intricate textures of his leather jacket, boots, and protective gear. The base design is equally rich and spectacular! Beyond the prominent "No Entry" sign, the most eye-catching detail is the mascot Gyoza Man below, attempting to catch a falling gyoza (even the scorch marks on the bottom of the gyoza are meticulously recreated) – absolutely adorable! The Hungry Bug storefront itself forms the base, intricately sculpted with detailed "No Entry" signage, a rolling shutter door, pipes, and other elements. The base is also littered with crushed gyoza boxes, Kaiman's detached head, a skateboard, and a gas mask, adding a wealth of Easter eggs and elements deeply rooted in the series.
