Japanese manufacturer PLEX and distributor X-PLUS are set to release a new addition to their popular DefoReal soft vinyl figure series, which blends intricate, realistic details with adorable super-deformed proportions. Following the Gamera (1999) and Gamera (1996) figures, the latest entry is "Gamera (1995)" from the first film in the Heisei Trilogy, "Gamera: Guardian of the Universe," slated for an April 2022 release.

Within the lore of the "Gamera" Heisei Trilogy, Gamera is depicted as a bio-weapon engineered by an ancient civilization. Its purpose was to combat the man-eating monsters known as Gyaos, utilizing ancient technology and the Earth's life energy, "Mana." Gamera is shown to evolve and grow stronger during periods of rest after intense battles. Its overall design in this era is notably more organic and biological compared to its Showa-era counterpart, and its primary attack shifts from fire breath to a powerful "Plasma Fireball," generated by combining oxygen with its internal plasma energy.

The "DEFOREAL Gamera (1995)" figure perfectly captures the on-screen appearance in a charming, low-proportioned, approximately 12cm tall size. Its oversized head, making up about half of the figure's height, coupled with its large, round eyes, gives it an undeniably cute aesthetic. Despite the stylized proportions, the figure boasts realistic, rough textures on its claws, skin, and iconic shell. The paint application further enhances this biological feel, showcasing detailed wrinkle shadows and subtle yellowing on the teeth.

Furthermore, a special limited edition available exclusively through the official online store, Shonen RIC, will include a bonus accessory: a set of three mini Gyaos figures, representing Gamera's iconic adversaries from the film!
