Following the first release, "Gunbuster," Bandai Candy's popular "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" spin-off series, SMP ALTERNATIVE DESTINY, has announced its second entry: "Brave Exkaiser" from the "Brave Exkaiser" series, slated for a Summer 2022 release.
The SMP ALTERNATIVE DESTINY series features renowned mechanical designer Toshinao Miyauchi (GARYU MAI SOU SEN), known for his work on "SD Gundam World," as the prototype sculptor. He reinterprets classic Japanese anime robots using digital sculpting techniques, imbuing them with high-density details that diverge from the original designs. This includes adding numerous panel lines, intricate layering, and exposed internal structures to the traditionally smooth armor, resulting in a visually sharper aesthetic.
The newly revealed prototype for "Brave Exkaiser" showcases its ultimate combined form, Great Exkaiser. This rendition boasts ultra-high-density details and an imposing, tall physique that surpasses the original design. It also comes equipped with an extra-long "Kaiser Sword," allowing fans to recreate iconic heroic poses.
Fans who follow designer Toshinao Miyauchi will likely recognize this work. In 2018, Miyauchi released Garage Kits of Exkaiser and Great Exkaiser under his GARYU MAI SOU SEN label, and those designs have been largely carried over to the current SMP ALTERNATIVE DESTINY version.
