US-based action figure brand Fresh Monkey Fiction has teamed up with sculptor Arlen Pelletier to launch "The Naughty or Nice" toy series, an exclusive offering from BigBadToyStore (BBTS). Previously, we covered the four different "Santa Claus" figures; now, the terrifying Alpine folklore figure, Krampus, is joining the lineup with his own 6-inch action figure! Two versions will be released simultaneously, with an estimated Q4 2022 shipping date (production is subject to minimum pre-order quantities).
This Krampus figure draws inspiration from the legendary companion of Saint Nicholas, the gift-giving saint often considered the prototype for Santa Claus. While Saint Nicholas bestows gifts and blessings upon good children, Krampus exists to punish the naughty, even dragging them into his lair to become a "Christmas feast." Known in some interpretations as the son of Hela, the Norse goddess of death, Krampus is famously depicted as a half-man, half-beast creature. This action figure captures Krampus donning a Santa Claus outfit, with a head sculpt featuring twisted horns and a long, menacing tongue. His fierce, aggressive eyes, sharp claws, and tail make for an utterly terrifying Christmas-themed collectible.
In addition to the "Krampus in Santa Disguise" figure mentioned above, The Naughty or Nice Collection also includes a deluxe version, featuring a black and green themed outfit and a richer array of accessories.
