To celebrate the "Macross" franchise officially entering the global stage after resolving its overseas copyright disputes, BANDAI SPIRITS' Tamashii Nations collector's division is releasing a commemorative "DX Chogokin" transforming alloy toy: the "VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie WORLDWIDE Anniv.", slated for an April 2022 release.
This product is a modified version of the "VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie" variable fighter, prominently featured in "Macross Frontier". Its Earth-like blue and white wing colors symbolize the "Macross" IP's global expansion, with the entire unit featuring "Skull," "WWM," and "021" markings. In its toy lore, this particular unit was a test machine deployed for Earth environment flights, designed to evaluate its performance in the planet's diverse and complex atmospheric conditions.
Like previous VF-25 series machines released under the DX Chogokin line, it boasts a sharp, impressive design. Its precise full transformation mechanism allows for seamless transitions between Fighter, Gerwalk, and Battroid modes. Key parts are made with die-cast metal, providing a substantial, premium feel during handling. The figure also comes with a variety of accessories, including multiple interchangeable hands, a Gun Pod, an Assault Knife, a dedicated display stand, and a pilot figure that can be placed in the cockpit.
