Japan's MAX FACTORY (株式会社マックスファクトリー) toy company is launching the first figure from the massively popular anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" for their renowned "figma" articulated figure series: the "figma Yuji Itadori"! The suggested retail price is 7,800 JPY, with an anticipated release in October 2022.
"Jujutsu Kaisen" (呪術廻戦), the manga by Japanese artist Gege Akutami, began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 2018 and quickly became a hit. Its popularity exploded even further after the anime adaptation premiered in October 2020. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student with superhuman athleticism. To fulfill his grandfather's dying wish to help others, Yuji accidentally swallows a finger belonging to the "King of Curses," Ryomen Sukuna (who possesses four arms and two faces), during a crisis involving a Cursed Object attack. This act causes the Cursed Spirit Sukuna to merge with him.
The "figma Yuji Itadori" stands approximately 15 cm tall, transforming Yuji into an articulated figma figure. It comes with a rich assortment of interchangeable face plates, including a standard smiling face, a serious expression, a battle-ready shouting face, and a Sukuna face featuring his distinctive curse marks. Combined with the interchangeable swept-up bangs part, collectors can create various dynamic poses.
Utilizing easy-to-pose yet secure figma joints, key areas are made with soft materials to ensure both balance and articulation. The figure can recreate thrilling battle poses with the included "Cursed Energy effect" and "Black Flash effect" parts! Additionally, it comes with a "hand part featuring Sukuna's mouth."
