Japanese toy company HMA (Kabushiki-gaisha HMA) is set to release new "Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris" themed products: the "Awakened Ryuseicho Iris Limited Moonlight Color / Standard Color" pre-painted PVC figures. Each figure was priced at 27,280 JPY and was scheduled for release in June 2022.
The "Evil God" Iris, who appeared in "Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris," is Gamera's primary antagonist. Its ancient name, "Ryuseicho," corresponds to one of the three southern mansions of the Hydra constellation in the Chinese Twenty-Eight Mansions, representing the Vermilion Bird, the guardian beast of the south, and an iris-like beast god from southern China. Legend has it that the resurrection of Ryuseicho would herald the end of the world, leading to its sealing within a mountain shrine in Japan's Minami Asuka Village.
HMA's "Awakened Ryuseicho Iris Standard Color" pre-painted PVC figure stands at an impressive 35 cm, faithfully recreating the powerful sculpt designed by artist Yoshi! The intricate, muscle-like textures on its body, along with the sharp exoskeleton on its head and back, perfectly capture the overwhelming presence of this humanoid kaiju. Its wing membranes, chest, and abdomen feature a metallic gradient paint application, giving them a unique, almost glowing sheen.
Four massive tentacles extend from its back, crafted from clear material, culminating in gun-like tips that unleash ultrasonic cutting blades, making Iris an incredibly menacing presence!

In contrast to the fiery "Evil God" appearance, HMA's "Awakened Ryuseicho Iris Limited Moonlight Color" pre-painted PVC figure draws inspiration from Iris's depiction as an iris flower dancing under the moonlight in the film. It features a stunning metallic blue finish, with its tentacles also rendered in translucent blue material.
