BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division has announced that the third plastic model kit in their HG (High Grade) series, based on the "Super Robot Wars OG" video game franchise, will be unveiled soon.

The "Super Robot Wars OG" series brings together original characters and mechs from across the Super Robot Wars universe, building a completely unique "Original Generation" worldview. While these titles often introduced innovative systems and stunning animation compared to their licensed counterparts, they frequently struggled with sales. The 2016 release, "THE MOON DWELLERS," saw dismal figures, and after five years with no new project announcements, fans grew increasingly concerned about the future of "Super Robot Wars OG." Adding to these worries, Takanobu Terada, who served as the series producer for many years, announced his departure from Bandai Namco on the 10th of this month.

While it remains to be seen how Bandai will manage the "Super Robot Wars OG" IP moving forward, their core hobby division has already released two highly praised kits: the "HG Cybaster" and "HG Alteisen." Should these model kits continue to sell well and reignite interest, there's a hopeful chance that "Super Robot Wars OG" could once again see a resurgence.
